The Heart Organ System

In Chinese medicine, the heart is known as the “King” of all the other organs.  The heart controls the circulation of the blood, and plays an important role in controlling aspects of the mind and the emotions. 

Signs of a “heart imbalance” are:

  • Dry mouth
  • Thirst (especially at night)
  • Palpitations
  • Cold sores
  • Bright yellow urine
  • Skin break outs
  • Nightmares and/or poor sleep
  • Poor digestion
  • Cardiovascular problems (high blood pressure, clogged arteries, etc.)

Healing foods for the heart:

  • Red apples, red grapes
  • Zucchini
  • Strawberries
  • Broccoli
  • Broccoli rabe
  • Plum tomatoes
  • Watermelon
